Cell Diagram

Our Cell Diagram Project:
Zoe Gold, Elya Kaplan

This year in Science our teacher Liam tought us about the cell organelles.
Liam had us make a cell diagram. We could pair up or do it alone. We got to choose if we wanted to make an animal cell diagram or a plant cell diagram. Each team was required to include at least five organelles. Zoe and I paired up and made a plant cell. We had to label each organelle and say what they were in a paragraph of this exact sort. We used included a Mitochondria, which is the powerhouse of the cell. We chose to add Lysosome, Ribosomes, a Chloroplast, the Cytoskeleton, and the Golgi Bodies. For the Mitochondria we chose a small building. The Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, and we thought the small building resembled a powerhouse. For the Lysosome, we put a small orange ball. The Lysosome is a round shape, which is why we chose that. It's job is to digest the waste in the cell. For the Ribosomes, we chose marbles. The Ribosomes are also a round shape, but there are many of them, which is why we put multiple marbles. Their job is to make proteins.
For the Golgi Bodies, we put a stamp, because the Golgi Bodies store and sort the proteins.
For the Chloroplast, we put green jelly beans. We chose the jelly beans not because they are food, but because they are green. The Chloroplast performs photosynthesis, which is what makes the plant green.
For the Cytoplasm, we chose the stuffing. The stuffing fills the cell, like the Cytoplasm. The Cytoplasm is important because the Cytoskeleton is in it, and the Cytoskeleton is what allows the cell to move.

    Hunters in the Snow
By: Tobias Wolff

Question: Were the character's actions believable? Why or why not?

Answer: Sometimes the actions were believable, sometimes they were not. An example of an action that is believable is: There are people who cheat on their partner/spouse like Frank does. Another is: If you felt like you were in danger, you would act offensively, like Tub when he shoots Kenny.

Question: Do the characters have a sense of what is right and wrong? Is there any connection between being lost in the woods and being lost in life?

Answer: I don't think that they have a good sense of wrong or right. They act out. Do what ever they  feel is right without thinking first. There is a connection between being lost in the woods and lost in life.   The connection is that you can't find anyone. In the woods there is no one around (usually), which doesn't necessarily make it any easier to find the person you are looking for.
